1. Acceptance and current status

By accessing Chadence, creating an account, or purchasing an available membership or add-on, you agree to these terms and to use the service lawfully. Chadence is a private legacy service, not an estate-planning, legal, medical, financial, emergency, or guaranteed permanent-preservation service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

Chadence is intended for adults. Do not use it to collect information from children under 13. Any future family feature involving children will require age-appropriate permissions and safeguards before release.

3. Content safety

Do not store Social Security numbers, payment-card numbers, financial passwords, or other account credentials in Chadence. Keep independent copies of irreplaceable originals and protect Digital Keys from unauthorized access.

4. Memberships, support payments, pricing, and storage

Token is free. Heritage, Keepsake, and Heirloom memberships and listed feature or storage add-ons are one-time purchases through Stripe’s hosted checkout and do not renew. Donations are one-time payments. The exact item and price are displayed before payment. Donations help cover website operations, secure hosting, storage, backups, development, and assistance-program costs and are not represented as tax-deductible. Members should keep independent copies of irreplaceable originals.

5. User content and permissions

Users retain ownership of content they have the right to upload and grant Chadence only the permissions reasonably required to store, protect, scan, process, display, export, back up, and deliver that content according to their instructions. Users must not upload material that violates privacy, copyright, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights.

6. Authenticity and AI

Chadence’s guiding rule is that AI may help organize, caption, search, or edit genuine material, but it must not invent a person’s legacy or falsely present generated words as that person’s own. Any AI-assisted material must preserve the member’s intent and be identified when appropriate.

7. Digital Keys and trusted access

Digital Keys are private codes connected to the member’s saved recipient and access instructions. A key should be protected in a safe, locked document box, sealed estate papers, or another private place, shared only with the intended trusted person, and never used as the sole recovery method. Chadence may require identity and release-condition verification before protected content is released.

8. No legal, medical, or financial advice

Chadence does not provide legal, medical, tax, financial, grief-counseling, or estate-planning advice. An audio or video statement may preserve wishes and emotion but is generally not a substitute for a legally executed will. Consult qualified professionals where needed.

9. Acceptable use

Users may not misuse Chadence to impersonate, harass, exploit, deceive, surveil, threaten, distribute unlawful content, bypass access controls, introduce malicious code, test vulnerabilities without written authorization, or violate another person’s rights.

10. Chadence intellectual property

Chadence™ and its original product concepts, documented features, branding, artwork, text, product documents, screen designs, visual presentation, and original software code were created by and are claimed as the property of Santia Welsh except where third-party material is identified. Copying or commercially exploiting protected Chadence materials without permission is prohibited. This notice records Santia Welsh’s authorship and ownership; the legal protection available to each type of material is determined by applicable law.

11. Availability, warranties, and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without a promise of uninterrupted operation, absolute security, permanent preservation, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free performance. Members should maintain independent copies of irreplaceable originals. Liability limitations and dispute requirements apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Suspension, termination, and changes

Access may be limited to protect users, comply with law, investigate misuse, or maintain the service. Material changes will be dated and communicated as legally required. Members can export account records and request account deletion through the dashboard.
